I connected with Kaitlyn White in 2020 when I was ready to go back to work in the midst of the pandemic. While she was ecstatic, friendly and a 'go-getter' for her clients, she would send me roles that she also sent other candidates roles. When I responded to her that I was interested, she would respond DAYS later that the client closed the position and that "I have been working on a lot of roles and things do get lost in the cracks sometimes, " So she NEVER checks her e-mails on a regular basis!

She sends e-mails blasts with open job postings and almost never responds if someone fits the role! I had to hound her a couple of times and she asked repeated questions about my resume, which I sent 2 times! She has not yet paired me with a role - even though her clients seem to fit my experience - and she is VERY confused with who e-mails her on the daily!

She hasn't even recommended another person from her team assist me with job placement in these trying times. I DO NOT recommend this agency, as their recruiters blast generic job postings and do not keep track of their candidates qualificications. I am only looking for a simple administrative job in NYC and this ageny has too much on their plate to provide ample opportunities to those who want to return the workforce.

This is a top notch staffing agency. Kayti contacted me in late May about working with me to find a job and by the end of June I had an offer. They are very responsive and give you all the tools needed to assist you in your interviews and follow ups.

I worked with Angela Fraguela. What an awesome individual. She never gave up on me. She worked tirelessly to find me a job. She's so friendly and personable. The job that they do is not easy. They're trying to please both the client and the potential employee. That's hard to do. Angela has always been positive and open with me. It's been a very long time since I've had someone work so hard on my behalf. I appreciate you, Angela!

I had a not so great experience with this agency, I was contacted Jeff Hershfieldy, went for an interview and provided all my documentations. He made believe they had a few opportunities he was going to submit me for. weeks went by and never receive a call. Whenever I called to follow up he never even remember who I was. Later he tried to send me to a temporary position at a horrible office in the Bronx with very bad reviews.

He called back several months after offering the same position at the same place trying to make me believe it was a different organization, but I remembered the location. He tried hard to make agree into going there even when I explained to him he had contacted me moths before with the job. I explained I was not looking for 3 or 4 weeks assignments and that the Company had Horrible reviews. I never contacted him again and never heard from him again. A complete waste of my time and Metro card money.

Don't waste your time here. Jeff will meet with you, has you fill out tons of paperwork, and promise to follow up, and literally falls off the face of the planet. Even when you reach back out to get an update, he just confirms that you're still available (maybe to pretend that he's searching for you), and when you tell him that you are, he just responds "okay" and continues to be MIA. On top of that, the front-desk girl is vicious! Girl, put a smile on. Seek another agency. There is no relying on Abacus Group. They are terrible overall.

I was given Abacus Group's information via a friend who had found a full-time job that she enjoyed through this agency. I was contacted by Jeff and made an appointment. Upon arriving, I was to fill out paperwork as the email I'd received did not load correctly. I showed up early to do so, but the admin at the front desk could not find the icon with the current paperwork.

She was waiting for someone to come back from break so they could log onto their profile to access the necessary icon. I was seated in a poorly-circulated conference room (which got so warm at one point that I actually felt nauseous), and heard Jeff outside of the door becoming frustrated that I did not have my paperwork. The admin finally came in, I filled everything out, and Jeff saw two other individuals before myself.

He finally got around to me, and blamed "lunch breaks running over" for his being nearly 45 minutes late for our appointment (I heard him outside the door, frustrated with me for not having paperwork prepared.). Could not get my name right. Spent perhaps ten minutes with me. And I never heard from him after. I should have trusted my gut and just walked out while I was waiting in that overheated conference room.

I was made to feel like my presence was an inconveniencing to him. If this is how you treat people, especially in the field you're in, then perhaps it's time to find another line of work. The front desk staff/admins are delightful, so at least I'll give this place that much!

I worked with Emily during my job interview process. She contacted me on LinkedIn and the jobs she mentioned seemed really interesting to me. She was very accommodating of my schedule as I was in the middle of busy season. Throughout the whole process I never felt pressured and she always gave me adequate time to get prepared for the interview. Her interview prep calls were always super helpful.

After a few weeks of interviews I accepted a full time position. I've started at my new job and could not be happier with the placement. Using this service was such a stress reliever for me and I would definitely recommend others give it a try.

Had a great experience with Greg. He was very straight forward and honest. We were able to have a clear direction of the role I was looking for and I knew that he wouldn't waste my time with roles that wouldn't interest me. Greg was able to find me a wonderful role at a large bank. Greg was a huge resource and I'd recommend him to anyone looking to further their career!

Nikki contacted me on LinkedIn and was right away very friendly, helpful, and attentive. She was the first recruiter I felt comfortable working with! She called me every day with new jobs that came in and was very accommodating of my schedule. I had a job within a month of working with Nikki. I was very happy with my placement! Even once I started my new position Nikki always kept in touch and we even would go out to lunch sometimes. She is the absolute best! I wouldn't want to work with another recruiter.

Jeff Hershfield found my resume and called me last month. I met with him and was very impressed by his kind demeanor. All recruiters kind of promise you the world and then, you never hear anything! Jeff sent me to interview for a fabulous job last week. He has something else lined up for next week. He is wonderful! Highly recommend him!

Bad experience from start to finish. Avoid Matt. I had an appointment with him at 1:00pm. He arrived at 1:22pm out of breath as if he was taking a long lunch or just walked 3 miles. I handed him my resume asking for advice if I should change anything, he didn't think anything was wrong. Which should have been a warning sign, there is always room for improvement. I send over some writing samples and the revised version of my resume. No response for two weeks. He never got me an interview or any feedback. Huge waste of time. AVOID!

Dianne and her colleagues at Abacus Group have been an amazing help over the past few years of both active and passive job searching. The overall experience and quality of opportunities presented have far surpassed all other recruitment firms I've worked with, and I will undoubtedly remain in contact with Dianne for years to come. Thanks for everything!

Someone had to buzz me into the office and inform the person I was meeting. There wasn't a receptionist to greet me. I waited in a vacant reception area for 20 minutes. Someone finally came out and escorted me into a waiting room. I gave her my birth certificate and drivers license to complete my application. She briefly details the position she called me for.

I had to wait another 10 minutes to meet the account executive ( the person handling the assignment) to arrive. She comes in.does not discuss the available position. She discusses the weather and states I guess the other person went over the job with you.we will call you when there is "a good fit" and leaves me alone in the room. She did not thank me or said good-bye. FYI - I was dressed in a suit.they were dressed casually. I think they are trying to reach or meet a "quota." Be cautious and do your research before giving any agency your personal information.

Abacus Group is organized and professional. I had a really positive experience meeting with Melissa in the office to find a new Business Associate position when I was not working. After two interviews with reputable firms in the city, Melissa placed me in a temporary position that became permanent!

I agree with Kim V.'s review as far as Jeff. I was contacted by Abacus' employee Jeff stating I applied to one of their ads. I scheduled an appt. to meet with him a week later and we discussed my employment preferences; and we seemed to be on the same page. he never mentioned the so-called job posting I applied for! I emailed the INCOMPETENT idiot a couple of days later to inform him of an update and he never responded. Whats the point in providing a business card to potential clients if you don't respond? Jeff makes gives this company a bad reputation, and I advise anyone who gets a call from this company to STAY AWAY and DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

I just recently started working with Abacus and they are professional and on top of their game. They send you emails with all the information for your jobs and not last minute. I would recommend Abacus if you are looking for Financial temporary jobs. They responded quickly to my application and an interview was made. If you are proactive and professional, you'll get the same in return.

So this place is 50/50. I had a 10AM appt. with a recruiter, so I arrived about 15 minutes earlier, hoping to fill out any paperwork needed so my appt could go smoothly. I didn't have too bad of an experience with the receptionist, except when I got to the office she was no where to be found. about 10 - 15 minutes later no apologies for being MIA.

So at this point I thought the recruiter I was supposed to meet with probably thought I was late. Besides that, the receptionist was actually nice to me, so no real gripes there. She sent me into a room to fill out some paperwork and about 15 minutes after a recruiter came in (not the one I made the original appt with), she was actually pretty nice and informed me that the recruiter I made an appt with, was held up with another job seeker and that she would be conducting my initial interview and he would be in later to speak with me (Didn't think too much of it because hey, its NYC, the job market is still pretty shitty, & I'm sure they had a lot of applicants).

We went over my info and we discussed what I was looking for and eventually wrapped up and she sent my original recruiter in. He was a nice guy as well we talked for about 5 to 10 minutes and he told me he would be in contact and for me to keep in contact with him. Long story short I got a call about a temp to perm position which I was able to start the very next week.

After being at the gig for 4 days, the person I reported to informed me they would only keep me until the following Wednesday, since it was very slow and they had no need for a temp anymore and that upon hiring they explained to Abacus that they weren't sure if it would lead to a perm position. This left me confused as the position was explained to me as a guaranteed temp to perm position.

So I called my recruiter and told him what they told me and asked if he could look out or try to find a new gig for me for the following week after the current gig ended. His response? "Thanks for the update, I will keep you posted". That was appropriate. Gig ended no response after that first initial e-mail. So I called, went straight to voice-mail, left a voice-mail, no call back. Sent another follow-up e-mail asking about any upcoming gigs.a simple 1 word e-mail response of "Thanks".

This was very disheartening and kinda a slap in the face as they really made me feel hopeful. The positive thinker in me is gonna assume that because it is summer, they might be a little slow with the amount of available jobs. But let's see what happens, I'm going to keep trying with them and I'm going to keep sending my resume out to other recruiters.

So Abacus lost 2 stars simply because the receptionist was no where to be found when I first got there and gave no apology when she finally did appear. In addition to that, the lack of real communication between recruiter and job seeker. So as I said initially it's 50/50 they are a really nice company and I am sure they mean well, but they have to do a better job of dealing with their job seekers.

But I'd advise that people to try them out and try their luck, it cant hurt, but just keep in mind that they should still contact other recruiters as well, since Abacus is really 50/50.

I normally do not write reviews but I felt the need on this agency. Had a bad experience, went in and was out in less than an hour. They don't seem to care about assisting you with finding a job. Met with some guy I can't even remember his name that's how fast he rush me. He just sat asked me to complete so paperwork asked me like 4 questions n said will forward the resume.

They say on their website they meet with clients to make sure they represent them good but yet when u meet w them they just don't care about getting to know you all they want is resumes to meet their numbers. Why make someone come in and meet hoping you can discuss what you looking for and then just say ok will call you all that they could've said on a phone interview from the beginning. I would not recommend this place at all.

Not the best agency. The receptionist was rude. Jeff the Recruiter seemed like he had just finished smoking a joint because he really didn't seem to be "all there." Jeff called me a few times and I agreed to have my resume sent, but the places he was sending my resume to were not a good fit because nothing on my resume matched the industry.

My whole experience with this company from the second I walked into the door was HORRIBLE. The receptionist is as rude as can be and was sitting there on her cell phone on a personal call while I was standing there, she barely even acknowledged me. I had an appointment with Ryan the recruiter who emailed me and after waiting 30 minutes for her, Jeff, another recruiter came to meet with me instead.

He asked me about 4 questions, gave me his card and told me he will follow up with me. He never did. I called Jeff to follow up and all I got from him was "NO I STILL DONT HAVE ANYTHING" meanwhile they have new job ads posted on Career Builder for the position I was looking for. It then got to the point where Jeff wasn't even returning my calls. Honestly, these people bring you in just to show they are bringing in new clients and they will NOT find you any work.

Unfortunately, my experience with most agencies out there has been a waste of time, this one being no exception. Basically, they have you come in so they can have applicants to keep their business going but you won't receive a followup call once you walk out the door. Also, the receptionist is one of the most abrasive persons I have ever met. NOT IMPRESSED!
