As a member of the accounting team I get to interact with our employees and clients from a very different prospective. Helping our employees navigate their financials, direct deposits, sick pay, etc. can be challenging for many people so I do my best to take time and fully explain all of the options.

I met with Spring Krogue and found her very distant. No friendliness in her voice and provided one sentence conversations, (e.g. silence). It certainly did not make me feel like I could truly rely on her and trust her. Since I submitted my resume to her, I've been sent out on one job interview. I haven't received a call or email from her in months. I'm signed up with several other agencies and they reach out to me often to see what my status is. I don't feel like I can rely on Pacific Coast for assisting me in my job search.

So this review is long overdue but when I first moved to San Francisco last year with nothing but two suitcases and a dream Pete and Spring not only helped me find tons of great paying, full-time administrative work but they also gave me useful career advice. I've worked with staffing agencies before and Pete and Spring could not have been more helpful or professional. They also had a lot of positions that weren't posted on the job boards. If you're new to the city or a recent college graduate, try Pacific Coast Staffing.

If you are looking for an agency that doesn't respond to ANY emails you send then this is the place! I met with Spring about a year ago looking for a full-time, preferably "permanent" position, and relayed this to her when we met. She assured me she not only wanted to help me, but would. I would occasionally receive a group email listing the current positions available (although there would be stretches of a few months where I didn't receive anything), and I would respond to her email asking to submit my resume for consideration and would NEVER hear anything back, well that is until I got the next email with the available positions.
Quite irritating in my opinion; the least someone could do is let you know they received your email. A couple of weeks ago I received a call from someone I've never spoken to at PCS, who frankly didn't know what she was doing, and asked if I was still in the market for a job. Well, I am having a baby that is due on 10/19 so I told her that, and told her I wouldn't be looking for a few months. Was told she would "mark" my file and that was the end of the call.
I then receive another email from Spring with a list of available positions, relay the same information to her, and letting her know I wanted to opt-out of receiving those emails for the time being since I can't really take any position right now.radio silence is what I got in return. Simple communication and "base touching" is apparently too much to ask for from PCS so I wouldn't recommend them, unless you want to work for your agency, not the other way around like it should be.
This is not the first agency I have worked with, but most of the others communicate with you, or call you to check up to see if you are still in the market and looking for a job. With more and more companies posting available positions on Craigslist I think staffing agencies are becoming a thing of the past, and they don't really seem to care anymore.

BEWARE.Don't work with this staffing agency if you want to actually get paid for ALL your time and work. Spring helped me get a temp to hire position at a company in SF. It didn't work out; and they ended up not taking me to regular, full-time. Pacific Coast has yet to pay me for my last day of work. I brought this up to Spring several times.
She gave me a check for everything up until my last day. Once, I started pushing for that money, she completely ignored me.would not respond to any of my messages. It has been over a month and still no check. I feel very disrespected and cheated. I will definitely never work with Pacific Coast again, and I urge you to be cautious if you do. Update: I filed a complaint against Pacific Coast for my lost wages; and got them to pay. If you are in a similar situation, go here for help: http://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/dlseWagesAndHours.html

I contacted them based upon the positive reviews below. I sent an email and my resume to Pete (at the suggestion of the receptionist). I never received an acknowledgment. And, I'm not in my 20s, just out of school, looking to crack to job market. I have more than 17 yrs.' experience at amazing firms. This goes to show you to not believe positive ratings.
Just because someone raves about their experience doesn't mean anything. I speak from the experience of lack of common courtesy and professionalism encountered with this one. As per one reviewer mentioned below they probably couldn't be of any use to me because they don't work with corporate clients. Regardless, it 's no excuse to not follow-up. Zero stars.

I think Pacific Coast is a great staffing agency. When I was referred to them by my roommate at the time, she was not wrong when she claimed they would be very professional, responsive and extremely friendly. I have always enjoyed working with Pete and Debbie. They have consistently been encouraging and very supportive of me in my job search. Although I do not need help getting placed with them anymore, it's nice to know if we (at my current employer) need a great temp to work with us, PCS will send us a person with skills and charisma. Thanks Pete and Debbie for everything!

PCS worked well for me. They found me on Monster or CareerBuilder for a specific position, had me come in for an interview and testing, worked with me to schedule the job interview as I was working various temp jobs at the time, and were never late with my paychecks. It was a different issue for my fiance though. They interviewed and tested him and didn't call for anything after. But he had nearly no job experience so that might have been it.

Pete just came to my work on Thursday to speak with us about what we were looking for in a new hire. He is awesome! Totally funny and very personable - makes you comfortable telling him about the inner workings and dynamics of your workplace. And, their placements are 100% guaranteed! WOW, now that is customer service =
