We have been using Helpside for over 2 years. We have had an awesome experience with our 9 companies that we have with them. We will be adding 2-3 more this summer! They are very responsive. They have specialists in every department that use their knowledge in their area of expertise to help us to run the HR and payroll aspect of our businesses better.
We have come across several scenarios that we didn't know which direction to take, and they were able to walk us through those scenarios with different options and helped us choose which was best for our businesses. They are easy to contact and take a lot off of our shoulders. We are very happy with the staff and services at Helpside.

I had a wonderful experience working with Helpside. Their staff is attentive, friendly and dedicated to your organization's success. They take being a co-employer seriously and look to mitigate risk wherever possible. Should you wish and choose to work with their payroll and HR teams, they will partner with you on everything needed to get your organization legally compliant and do it with a smile.
They are expanding their leadership training program to include on-demand training videos, but will also come to your location to train wish is a wonderful added benefit. This also includes the annual sexual harassment trainings for staff and leaders.

The company I work for reaches out to Helpside often in order to verify employment for individuals whose employers utilize Helpside for HR services, and they are always so quick to get us the information we need! Jana is a superstar and is always so helpful. My coworker and I are always so excited when we get to work with Helpside because we know it will be a smooth, efficient process.

Helpside is great. HR is extremely helpful with all the questions that I have. Payroll is also really helpful with reaching out with any issues on employees time cards. They were able to help one of our employees with issuing a new pay card the same day the employee lost it. They are also great to reach out to have them come to your business to talk about safety and forklift certification. Highly recommended.

Our company has been with Helpside since 2008. They have always been excellent to work with. From payroll solutions, benefits enrollment and administration, to answering some tough questions involving employee relations, Helpside has always been there as a reliable partner. We highly recommend Helpside for any services they may offer and you may need.

Helpside is a fantastic company! They've been around for more than 30 years and really know how to help small to medium sized businesses thrive. Helpside is also a great place to work. The culture is amazing from the top down which translates to happy employees who love helping clients succeed every day. I can't say enough good things about this company and it's people.

Helpside is amazing. Every year I have to send them paperwork to fill out so I can maintain 3rd party assistance for my medical costs. They are always quick to reply and thoroughly answer any questions I have. They are professional, responsive and pleasant to interact with. Their website and online interface are also fantastic. I only have to bother them for paperwork once a year because I can access everything else through the employee portal. Over the years I have only seen them improve in quality and accessibility. I am very impressed and appreciative.

Helpside will rip you off in any way that they can. We had a baby recently and were planning on changing our insurance plan with the life event status change. Most employers and HR companies allow this. EMI health, our medical insurance provider said that it shouldn't be an issue- it's a common occurrence. We are on a high deductible plan since this was an unplanned pregnancy.
After paying our way through prenatal care, we are now learning that we can add our child as a dependent, but no changes can be made to our current healthcare plan, so the birth and hospital costs will be billed to our high deductible plan. We will owe thousands of dollars. A high deductible plan is only beneficial to families with low healthcare costs.
We never would have chosen this plan if we knew we would be having a baby this year, and to not allow us to change the plan to lower costs of childbirth is unethical. Helpside exploits their customers with this ridiculous policy. I'm sure there's many people who have been in our shoes who have been forced into paying extremely high medical bills due to this restrictive life event policy.

I am seriously shocked there are any positive reviews for Helpside. My company switched to them for insurance and payroll and it has been nothing but headaches and problems. Their website is horrible, hard to use and requiring logins in multiple different spots to accomplish tasks (our old provider, ADP, had a single login for everything). There were lots of issues during the sign up, where personal information was sent via insecure emails that had large copy lists.
They bait and switched us on our HSA provider (made us change when we were totally happy with the bank we were using). We had various problems with getting payroll issued. And now, the latest bait and switch - they are totally changing our health plan, basically getting rid of a deductible and moving everything to out of pocket max (and calling it a deductible with 100% coverage). If your company is thinking of using Helpside, do everything you can to try and convince them otherwise.

I had a horrible experience with HR. I was on FMLA for maternity leave and the communication was awful. I received one follow-up phone call to confirm the terms of my leave and it was the day of or the day after I gave birth so of course I did not answer. The next phone call I received was to inform me that I got my return date to work wrong and that I am no longer covered with my medical insurance plan.
My employer did not get a follow-up email or phone call either. We only heard from Helpside ONE day after it was too late for them to help me with the misunderstanding. Even the phone call I received was unprofessional. My employer had to get involved and luckily we were able to provide more information to Helpside that made it so my baby and I didn't lose our insurance.
No one should have to go through the fear of losing their insurance, especially with a new baby with medical issues just because a company has horrible communication. Although I was able to keep my insurance, I am still getting emails and letters saying that I did lose my insurance and will need to enroll when eligible. I have heard from a few of my co-workers that their experience with their maternity leave/ FMLA was ridiculous when it came to working with Helpside.

I spoke with a representative because they called husband saying that they were setting up his insurance but they wanted to do financial planning that we did not ask for. It was very misleading and the representative was very rude. I would never use this service if my husband's company did not use them. The representative didn't help with anything that we needed and just said someone else would email my husband.
If you are a company looking for this service, do your employees a favor and look somewhere else. (It looks like the only good posts on here for them are written by their own people, just look through all of the posts)

My employer uses Helpside for payroll. Helpside uses a third-party software to process payroll and their software allegedly failed last week. Helpside made the decision to process live checks and used a flat tax rate for everyone in our company. As a result, my check was short about $500. It is now a week since their software failed and I am still short. Helpside- don't you have a continuity plan in case of disaster, power outages, software failures and the like.
I know the big payroll companies such as ADP and Paychex have measures in place so that people such as myself are not impacted by poor planning and leadership. If I were a business looking into Helpside for payroll, I would ask a lot of questions about this specific scenario.

My employer used Helpside for payroll. My experience wasn't good. Due to lack of communication from Helpside my medical insurance was back dated & terminated leaving me financially responsible for medical bills. I called helpside & insurance co. when my earnings were late. Helpside had options. They could of said hold off using benefits we haven't received the premium yet.
They could of allowed me to pay my premiums direct one time. (Share of cost was withheld from earnings) They could of said if you use benefits your responsible for the bills.
