Students from many countries are coming on short 3-4 months term visa to experience American life and bring cultural diversity to US businesses. Students have some English communication skills that they are able to improve with the native language speakers in various environments. College students from Southern American countries arrive in December and may remain until February or March.

The Work and Travel USA Program, sponsored by several international educational organizations designated as sponsors by the United States Department of State, allows English-speaking university students, selected from Europe and Asia, to experience American life and to bring cultural diversity to your workplace.

As per new Department of State regulations, the employment needs to be either seasonal or temporary in nature. Employment is of a seasonal nature when the required service is tied to a certain time of year by an event or pattern and requires labor levels above and beyond existing worker levels. Employment is of a temporary nature when an employer's need for the duties to be performed is a one-time occurrence, a peak load need, or an intermittent need.Summer Program participants generally arrive in May/June and can work until late August -September.

As per Department of State regulations the designated sponsoring organizations are required to screen all the international candidates. Personal interviews are conducted to ensure that the program is suitable to the participant's background, needs and experience. Only full-time post-secondary students at accredited educational institutions are eligible to participate.
