Many problems with this company. I've used them for 2 clients for 5 years. The interface I use is called Paychex Flex. The design is extremely convoluted, the help system rarely addresses real issues, the account representatives don't care about anything. Things that you need to access that are useful are hidden, yet they fill your screen with, and offer mostly information the regular small business doesn't care about seeing on their landing page.
A couple of things Paychex should allow on the landing page are a net to gross calculator and add a check after-the fact. These functions are hidden away in places that are hard to find, and the search help function doesn't show you where they are. Help is useless. Unless you know what the author was thinking at the time the article was written, you'll never guess what search term will take you to the help you need.
This is worst part: If you have difficulty with Paychex Flex accepting information, they blame you. They vehemently reject the idea that something may be wrong on their end. Remember, I've used this for 5 years and now in the last few months Paychex Flex says you've entered the direct deposit information for an employee, but then it disappears. You can enter the information for several employees and the information for one or two will vanish over night.
No warnings, no notice. It just disappears. Paychex steadfastly, when you can get through to them, asserts it's my fault. after 5 years of inputting employee data I'm pretty sure I have the hang of it. They won't even entertain the idea they have a bug in the system. I don't recommend Paychex.

Horrible company to deal with. Too many mistakes and no customer service to handle our concerns. Seem to have a very high turnover rate, can never deal with the same person and spend more money checking and trying to fix their work than if we did the payroll ourselves. Charging for services not registered for and no way to rectify.

I don't like putting negative energy out into the world, but I MUST warn other business owners how bad this company is. My staff and I waste an unbelievable amount of time trying to get someone on the phone.and that's not including the amount of time we waste trying to get Paychex to fix a recurring problem that still isn't fixed to this day. Our latest specialist is wonderful, but who knows how long we'll have her assigned to our account. She is our 3rd specialist in 9 months. I can't reach her b/c Paychex clearly has her overworked to the point she can't win for trying.

Telemarketers sending junk texts. Cannot be trusted for sure. We are on the DNC and have no prior relationship with this company. "Hey David, I wanted to reach out as the end of the year is coming up quick and a lot of businesses typically evaluate their payroll partners around now. I wanted to see if you have a few minutes coming up to see how Paychex is helping businesses in your area -Ashton "

I've been using Paychex for a few years and it's always an absolute disaster. They are constantly changing my payroll "specialist" and with each new one reaching a higher level of incompetence and unprofessionalism. This is literally the worst payroll company out there and anything else would be better.

This is one of the worst companies I have ever "partnered" with. If you want to call it partnering.from completely forgetting to pay my staff one week because my representative was out of town (these sorts of things should be taken care of internally, and not put on a customer to have to deal with), to charging me for 8-months after I left the for a new payroll company, in which I had to speak to 6 different people before I finally got some sort of support for a refund. However, I still have yet to receive said refund.
They do not make payroll convenient in any way. The business owner and employees have to jump through too many hoops to make it worth your while. Find a different company before you trust them with your payroll and other financial needs.

Their fees are much higher than their competitions. Their customer service is horrible once they have you signed up. They fail to file reports with the state. I had my specialist confirm via email that my reports were filed but they were not. I have requested a new payroll specialist and no one will reach out to me and a new one has not been assigned. I have spent hours on hold and transferred to so many different people who all state that they can't help me.

As this only goes for Vendors. I was approached ( NOT SEEKING) about doing a couple of projects for PayChex. After multiple dropped balls via phone calls, texts, and emails, we finally get the project going. Fast forward. Project has been done and picked up 45 days ago and I still am waiting on payment. I have talked to the AP dept. multiple times about their past due billed only to be shoved off or ignored.
Communication with this company is by far the worst I have ever experienced. If you on the fence about doing business with them, at least in the Tulsa market< find someone else. Vendors, if they come to you for projects turn them away. I am trying to resolve this account but I fear legal actions will be in the future.
