At that time we were called The Lower Puget Sound Development Center. The company was started in the basement of the First Baptist Church by a group of courageous parents looking for meaningful programs for their sons and daughters with disabilities. This was at a time when there were few choices available in the community and the alternative was placement in a state institution. Society of Crippled Children decided that the community would be better served by merging and chose to call this new company Morningside.

Morningside Offers Individualized Programs to Meet the Needs of the Diverse Individuals we Serve. Job seekers come to Morningside from different funding sources, such as Developmental Disabilities Administration, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, Local School Districts, Social Security Work Incentives and Private pay agreements.

I grew up in Buffalo, New York and moved to Washington State in 1997, trading the snow for the rain. I've worked in the non-profit sector since then with an emphasis on development/fundraising. I was previously the Vice President for Development at Morningside for five years. It was during that time when I realized my passion for Morningside's mission and the importance of focusing on people's strengths and abilities.

Thi is by far one of the worst companies I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They promise things and then never deliver. There is little to no communication, no organization or follow through at all. The phrase woefully inept is too kind. If you are working with DVR and get a list of sub contractors with Morningside's name on it, RUN!, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! I wasted 9 months of my life without any offers, interviews even realistic prospects. This rating system requires at least one star, I wish I could put minus five
