This organization helped me become a Healthcare professional in less than a year, they provided financial services as well that helped me greatly in very tough times. The grant for GoodCare expired and needs to be re opened. GoodCare has helped countless people with by paying for education and other opportunities.

I signed up for an IT support certificate program and was told that I'd have support throughout the program. Not only did I not have any support but the advisor (sierra) was moved to a different dept I didn't know that until after I completed the program. Very poor communication but I did earn a new certificate. Edit: email sent

Awesome people. Really great place helping people get jobs and helping people go to school. The good start reentry program for people coming home from recently being incarcerated is definatly worth looking into if you want to change you life and take back control of your life

Today I experienced my first episode of racism, after living in the US for the last 3 and a half years. I was at Blacksburg's Goodwill store and I was paying for the stuff that I got when the employee by name "Vickie" -a woman in her 50s- asked me if I wanted to donate something to the organization. Both wearing masks and having a plexiglas between us, I didn't understand what she said so I asked her politely to repeat it.

When I thanked her and I told her that I don't want to donate something, she said "You come to our country and you don't even know how to speak our language" and something else which was even worse and made me too furious to be able to recall it. Having heard that, I asked her if she said something and she said no. I told her that I heard what she said, so she sighed, she gave me the receipt and she ironically told me to have a nice day.

Of course, I asked her name and I immediately informed the store's manager about Vickie's racist behavior. The manager was excellent and professional. Well, Vickie can not get fired this time, because there is no sound in cameras and there wasn't anyone next to me. Thus, it is her word against mine. In case that someone else experiences similar behavior and reports it as I did, she won't be that lucky next time because there will be more evidence.

As I told her, she should watch her mouth and she should be more respectful and not a racist. That applies to every racist out there. If you experience racism behavior you should always speak out because this is the only way that change will come. I used to believe that #Goodwill is a store who helps people in need and that is the reason I was trying to support them. Unfortunately, not all of their employees share the store's values and policy.

I am very disappointed that a racist can keep her job and she thinks she has the right to say whatever she wants because she is a native speaker of one of the thousand languages in the world. It is unprofessional, unethical, and unacceptable businesses to keep employees with such racist behaviors.

This is the corporate center. They help different members of the community to continue education and places. Stellar staff that work hard especially with people who also have disabilities.

Small store, closes earlier than other stores. It's in what used to be a pretty sketchy location, but these days it's fine, especially in the daytime. I've been here constantly over the years, so I've found good things here and then had stretches of them not having anything out on the shelves (for whatever reason). I would go here if you were nearby, or on your way to the Salem pound store since it's close.

Slightly more to choose from than the one in Christiansburg. The have a pretty good selection of clothes and books. Everything else is lacking, probably because everyone else has combed through it already. When I wanted to check out, I had to flag someone down because they were busy doing other tasks.
