I recently replied via email to a position this "talent agency" had listed on Indeed. It was a basic role and the instructions explicitly stated to read through the information and only apply if you met the requirements. The salary was also clearly listed. Although I was definitely overqualified for the role, I made sure that my cover letter expressed my desire to find a role that had the potential to expand in the future, which this posting indicated was a possibility.
Despite this, I received a very short response from the "recruiter" that was two presumptive questions implying that I was not going to be "comfortable" with the salary. There was no greeting or other normal professional "Thank you for applying" content. I did reply to remind this "recruiter" that the salary was clearly stated in the posting and that I wouldn't have applied if it was not acceptable.
Of course, I got no response. This supposed "talent agency" is missing basic professionalism. Presuming that an applicant is only money driven without taking into consideration the information that was provided in a cover letter is lazy and dismissive. You're missing out on real talent by utilizing these practices. My background is in recruiting and HR and I would caution other professionals against using this place for finding decent work.
Keep in mind that they are a reflection of the types of clients they serve, so if the initial engagement is bad, the experience will be similar with the actual company they're representing. I've seen this numerous times throughout my career.
