In all my years of contracting as an engineer and dealing with dozens of agencies and being contacted by literally one hundred, I have never seen a recruiter and a CEO send emails to me as ludicrous as they did. When I was contacted about some job, that I had zero qualifications for and that in no way shape or form had anything to do with the listed job requisition from the supposed client, I wrote back to the recruiter and asked if he ever reads a resume or ever takes the time to understand what the client wants.

The recruiter wrote back, that he does not and simply sends out blanket emails to hundreds of people, hoping to get a hit. I told him that is a poor way to take up my time and hundreds of others as you simply do not seem to do any work, yet then expect a commission or finder fee. He wrote back: "There's no question that we target a broad audience with our mailings but the purpose should be apparent.

In this instance I targeted anyone in our database with a title of Systems Engineer (and its variations) or Optical Engineer. This tactic is necessary to generate the number of responses and referrals we must to be effective; simply a numbers game. " Then his emails got worse and I forwarded them to the CEO to let him know how this guy is representing his company.

The CEO completely disregarded it, and when I said I would post reviews and comments on Contract job agency message boards and Yelp, the CEO wrote back" go ahead "spot" as if now he is making a joke about yelp. So my comments are that if you want to work with the most un professional staffing agency I have ever come across, then by all means contact them
