It doesn't really matter at this point since I believe the agency has closed it's doors. But I must say, Leslie Comar was by far the most rude person I've ever had the displeasure of being interviewed by. Social grace of a truck driver interviewing you and asked extremely personal questions about my finances, discrediting my prior work history almost as if I was lying, I had worked at 5-6 top entertainment and talent agencies in L.A. and had references to back it all up. just a real L.A. A-hole. Also, crappiest office I've ever seen west of Korea town. Her staff was nice though.

This was a very fast and productive process. I was able to interview with Leslie via Skype. Jenny kept constant contact with me, and shortly after, boom, interview. Long story short. I rocked it. If you're a professional, and know what you're doing, they can definitely help you get to you where you're trying to go.

To add some context, I am a recently separated veteran and had no idea how the "real world" operates. I've been involved with Comar Agency for a couple of months now. Leslie has been amazing to work with! I love her openness and honesty. It's tough to navigate through all of the craziness a job search can bring on, but Jenny and Leslie were patient and very knowledgable.
They also followup with questions quickly, and I felt like I could come to them at any time with any concerns, which I did quite a few times. Leslie and Jenny were understanding and I never felt like a nuisance. My conclusion about Comar Agency is a very positive one. If you're hard working, open to talking about yourself and your goals, then give them a call.
A main complaint I have read about all agencies in this field, is that they don't call back, or people complain about not finding a job. HOWEVER, that's life. Some people are not as marketable or flexible as others. It doesn't benefit a staffing agency to ignore good candidates. Knowing that truth, I ignored those reviews, and WOW, so glad I did!
I am most appreciative of their perseverance and support of my goals. That's definitely a rare find in Los Angeles! If you're looking for work and feeling the pressures to find the right job, give yourself an even better chance and call Comar Agency!

Jenny scheduled Facetime with me and the owner Leslie Comar. I was told about an animation position and that is the only reason I accepted to have a Facetime meeting with Leslie. Leslie Facetime me right at 930am, and right off the bat I can see that she was annoyed, not happy at all, raw personality, a bitter individual but I went with it anyways hoping it would get better.
Not a good reputation for a first impression Leslie. She asks you questions like what are you strengths and weakens while looking elsewhere and doing something else while rolling her eyes. I would say, if you're going to do Facetime with a candidate, hold off on the rolling of the eyes Leslie, it belittles yourself and makes you look like an angry b*tch, and no one wants to be around an angry b*tch.
She looked like she was haggered from Facetime interviews all morning. I have never in my life had such an unprofessional interview with a such a rude bitter-type behavior person ever. I kindly said this is not going the way I expected it, so I am going to end this call. Shes said but I asked you a question and you are not answering whilst rolling her eyes, and I said, you come across extremely frustrated, I am going to end this call now and I hung up. Leslie, get a bit of professionalism it would make you go a lot further.

I got in contact with the Comar Agency after applying for one of their jobs online. Very shortly Jenny emailed me to set up a Skype interview with the owner. I was very excited. I do my Skype interview with Leslie and she's just asking me about my background so we spent most of the interview just reviewing my resume. She says that I'd be a great fit for the position that I applied for and another one that just came in working as a Receptionist at a production company.
After our Skype Interview was over, she emailed me all of this paperwork to fill out and send back to her. The paperwork was mostly just tax documents and ID information. After I sent that in, the assistant Jenny said they'd be in touch about the positions. I never heard from them again. Maybe they found someone else, but to never contact me back is just rude.

Just wanted to update how much I appreciate both Leslie and Jennifer at Comar. They are true professionals and really are industry staples when it comes to job placement. I really feel like they look out for you and have your best interest in heart. I don't want to sit here and bash other agencies, but Comar is among the the best in the business and if you are lucky to even be called in by them, take the opportunity! Leslie and Jenny you are both amazing!

All the negative reviews about the Comar Agency are either from rejected applicants or people who shouldn't be in the entertainment business anyway if you think an interview with Leslie was a difficult one! Don't be bitter and negative toward such a great business! This industry requires tough skin and Leslie simply screens her applicants to make sure you are ready for the type of jobs she might send you on!
Honest and straight forward which is rare in Hollywood! Leslie and Jenny are a great team who honestly care about people. The Comar Agency is not money hungry like other agencies they are very genuine. if you're lucky to be selected you will be in good hands. If you aren't selected-- just keep applying! It took me several submissions before they finally called me in but I am comfortable knowing that I am with the best entertainment temp agency that LA has to offer!

I love Comar! Leslie is amazing, and I love how the agency is very independent, with a great lovely office and staff. I had an assignment as soon as the interview ended, and they really listened to what I wanted and found me another assignment when my first ended that was perfect! They are very personable and give you individual attention. The only other experience I had was Freidman, and I felt like they were just collecting resumes. Comar is amazing if they call you in! Good luck!

I can't say enough great things about Leslie and Jenny. Coming from a recruiting background, I understand the difficulty in matching up people's background to an open inventory of positions - it takes true talent, years of experience and a lot of dedication. Leslie and Jenny worked tirelessly to set up my many rounds of interviews, even communicating with me after hours and on the weekends.
When I received my offer, they acted on my behalf to make sure that the entire package was exactly what I was looking for. When she stepped up to be my advocate, I was incredibly thankful for her very direct approach, she gets her way and I was happy to have her in my corner! Should there ever be any open positions at my new office, I'll be calling Leslie!

About a year ago I turned to the Comar Agency after unsuccessfully job hunting in the entertainment industry. My experience was condescending, superficial, and all out depressing. The Microsoft Office test is a joke, don't waste your time studying your Word or Excel. It's on a crappy PC computer with out of date software that's monitored like an online test (driving school, sexual harassment tests, etc). What's irritating is that it only allows you to work in the "correct" sequence.
As soon as you deviate from that sequence, it gives you an error message and makes you start over. For example, it says, "copy and paste cell1 into cell 2". So I hit "Command +C". Error. um, ok. "Control + C". Error. Right-click. Error. Click and drag. Error. Edit Menu - Copy. ERROR! I lost my patience and got that question wrong. The entire test is like this.
The worst part is the interview with Leslie Comar. She's intentionally intimidating and rude, which I thought was an act but it's really who she is. She said I was only worth $10/hr. Um, no. I said, " I was paid $20/hr at my University job and I graduated with a triple major. I'm more valuable than that" Her response, "Degrees don't matter in this industry and neither does your previous job because it's not industry related." Was this the soul crushing truth?
After she saw my scores on the Microsoft test she told me that I don't fit her high profile opportunities. I was insanely depressed until literally two days later when Fox called me for an interview (from my own resume submission). I got the job and was paid $25/hr as an assistant, no lie. Then, get this, a month after working at Fox, I was called for an interview by Hasbro with a $350/day rate.
On year later I keep thinking to myself, "What if I had gone with the Comar Agency?" My advice, be your own manager. Pimp yourself out on every possible company's job board and wait up to 6 months to hear back. Comar is a slimy Hollywood agent who will undercut you. If you decide to go with her, good luck.

So incredible. If you have the luck of getting called in (which is tough, I admit), Leslie and her team are the best. I received a call for a potential job at least once every other week. These were quality positions too. Leslie was honest with me every step of the way and got me quick responses and even quicker schedulings - sometimes I would have an interview the very next day. I ended up taking a position that I found on my own and Leslie was supportive and truly excited for me. Overall, I am nothing but impressed by them and recommend them 110%.

They are the most elitist a-holes I ever had the misfortune to speak to. I've gotten a few rejection letters from them over the years whenever I end a temp or contract assignment with a major studio - and they have the audacity to claim that I'm not qualified to even be on their radar. I don't know what the heck they're looking for, they're very cryptic in their definitions of what or what isn't a personal or executive assistant's description entails.
I called them one day to nitpick with them and to tell them that rejection letter they sent me was a downright insult. I explained to them that I've worked two years as a personal executive assistant/researcher for Sony Pictures Television's syndication department, and I was a assistant for four years at Warner Bros - and they still have the gall to tell me that I'm still not qualified for anything that comes in from their clients?
I like their stance on the phone: "this is not a subject to debate" and then hang up on me. I just scoff at all the people who harp and harp upon how rude and how unprofessional the Friedman Personnel Agency is - when these Comar Agency posers are in a league of unprofessional vulgarity all their own. Oh, by the way - whenever I hear one of Jules Young's assistants has to take his dog out for a dump- I always suggest of walking him towards Leslie Comar's direction.

I have a master's degree and several years in production experience and experience in the entertainment industry and yet, I was turned down to even register at this place. Say what?! I guess their standards for temps to hire and low, low, low. And FYI Comar, the next day after your insulting email, I received a job at a network studio for an incredible salary and benefits! Maybe you should screen better.
