Beware of their Youth@Work program. They will make your youth work more than the hours they pay. This place cheats you in your hours calling it a system error when you bring up the issue and claim nothing can be done on their end. The staff is useless in helping anyway. I am shocked their youth center still operates and receives fundings through the City of LA as they clearly don't provided any guidelines in helping the youth towards a career path and preparation for a job besides assigning them to a location.
You have to stay on top of the process and push them to process the papers, then ask them what's next to do otherwise they won't even bother guiding you. You are pretty much on your own. After completing the program, they don't even do a closure of giving a certificate or a simple thanks to these kids that put in their time. All they care about is signing people up to get the fundings from the county/city.
Not your typical youth centers to offer help to guide youth in finding a job or prepare your youth for interviews, resume making and etc. Just a waste of tax payer's money while staff does nothing all day besides pushing papers! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME at this facility and go to a better youth center that you don't get cheated for hours you put in and NOT get paid.
They will make you do modules online that takes youth over 4hrs for a module but only pay you for 1 hour and call it "a system calculation" and it's out of their hand be realistic, why do you set up the youth on an hourly base pay if you don't pay them the hours they put in? I won't be surprised if the city grant administration has a conflict of interest with this facility as someone should look into this.

Absolutely useless. They put my boyfriend through two months of BS classes, then were supremely unhelpful and evasive afterward. To be fair, I suppose COVID-19 had some effect. But they didn't have to be evasive about the fact that there seems to be a dearth of jobs here in the East San Fernando Valley. And towards the end, they were downright rude to him. Don't deal with this WorkSource Center. There are many more here in the City of Los Angeles.

Not very helpful and they ask u to much personal information in exchange for them giving u classes on how make a resume. How to prepare for a interview and other classes when do they help u find a job exactly? All this at no cost to u i over heard a employee say They bill the state that's why they want ur personal info if u don't want to give them your info then the friendly smile turns in to a frown since they can't make money off u they don't want to waste their time on you ( next ) so go to the woodland hills EDD office on vanowen before canoga they wil help you make a resume and they help u submit it so u have good chance of finding a job and there are flyers of up coming job fairs at NO COST TO YOU.

I was hoping for an actual EDD office to visit where I could speak with somebody about my unemployment issue, and trying to fix my situation trying to get my confirmation number online. These folks only do job search. I tried going to one other office and it was the same situation there was absolutely nobody that you can make an appointment with to talk to you about your case. A waste of time

Don't waste your time. They make you jump through hoops. You have to go to a orientation then they a resume work shop and last they have you apply for what seems to be their only employer. The person they assigned to me never did a thing for me. He took forever to reply to emails. Again, don't waste your time. I think his name is Salvador.throughout business card.

If you're looking for a job and thinking where to start, this is a good place. They have an up-to-date database of opportunities and they conduct job fairs frequently. Also have programs to get you started on making resume, learning work ethics etc. You don't have to pay anything. Staff is committed and helpful. There may be exceptions, but most of them are really nice.
They understand the struggle. You'll have to fill an application and get the membership. You can only sign up to one WorkSource branch. You need to be a California resident and have valid DL/passport. Most jobs are either minimum wage or couple of dollars above. But something and somewhere to start is better than nothing at all.

This is one of the most disorganized businesses I've ever had the displeasure of working with. In addition to not properly scheduling appointments, they have a bad habit of blaming their client base for their bad scheduling. They're not knowledgeable of what they're speaking of and have you jump through unnecessary hoops for tasks that should be simple.
Don't waste your time here. The place should be shut down and the majority of the staff fired. These guys can't even do their own job properly, let alone help me or you get a job/career.
