I truly appreciate the effort Geoff and Lexi put into funding me the perfect role! I couldn't be more happier with the level of dedication they displayed. Throughout the search process they made sure I was informed on positions that came up and was ver diligent about setting up interviews with companies. If you're in search of employment or changing careers, I highly recommend Advanced Resources.

I got an email from Afsheen Mahdee regarding a position, so I called Advanced Resources and asked to speak with her. It was okay the first time I called because I was actually able to speak with her about the position. Anyway, I sent my Resume via email as requested, I was told after I send my Resume I would get a call back from Afsheen or from a co-worker regarding a position.
A week later I'm still waiting for a response from someone. I mean, I'm starting to think this a SCAM to get your information? At this point I recommend not to contact this place and look somewhere else! I'm stopping with the calling and emailing trying to reach someone, my next step is to report this to BBB. The owner sent me an email after I posted a review someone finally responds.
I was not told to upload my Resume to the website, I was not emailed or told about this site until today! And, as far as my experience and qualifications I have a Master's Degree in Communications, an Associates in Business Administration, Certifications from Microsoft in Word and Excel and I have 10+ years in Customer Service. Your organization just didn't take the time to inquire! Thank You!

Alli Rivera reached out to me via LinkedIn about a position she was staffing. We scheduled a phone interview yesterday and she never called, failed to send an email to cancel, just nothing. Completely unprofessional behavior and I would never work with this recruiter or organization if this is their professional standard. Shame on you for lacking common decency, social graces and respecting people's time.

I scheduled an appointment around the Thanksgiving holiday with Gybrany Onofre at the Jackson office and it went well. He was professional and polite and assured me that he would work with me to find the right position. When I reached out to him a couple weeks later, it took three emails to get a response. When I did, he didn't know who I was and told me I had to come in to interview.
When I explained I already did, he apologized and told me he'd confused me with another candidate with the same name. (weak sauce!) The same day he reached out and scheduled an interview with NorthShore in Skokie. After hearing absolutely NOTHING from this agency in two weeks, I assumed NorthShore went with another candidate. It's been 3 weeks and I have STILL HEARD NOTHING from and at this point I'm fine with that. Very unprofessional!

I had heard great things about this place and was very excited. However, I wouldn't recommend them. The staff are very energetic in the beginning IF you can get in contact with them, but then you don't hear from them for a while. If you try to reach out and ask about work, they'll say something like "it's pending" or "I think I found something for you".
Neither of these statements seemed to be true in my case as I haven't been back to their office for an interview or anything in way over a month. There are OTHER temp agencies out there who actually deliver so I would suggest anyone to go for a different agency.

They set up an interview with me on the phone but the email confirmation required that I supply them three professional references immediately. They are fishing for contact information to call your references to pitch their services not get references. You don't have to supply references until you want to apply for their job. assuming there is a job.

I had an apt with Geoff today. Called him to reschedule because I had an emergency. He was extremely rude when I called and told me that I would have to go around in circles and he would "Circle" back to me if he could. I could not believe what I was hearing from what I thought was a professional. Professionals do not speak like this. If this is how they treat potential good employees, I do not need their services. It seems like they just care about their commission. I will NOT be using this place again. Use them only if you like going in "Circles" LOL Unbelievable!

I came to them about 6 months ago and met with two recruiters, Whitney and Alexis. Both of them said they were working accounts that were a fit for me, both promised to follow up with more details. I am a college grad with decent grades and no criminal background, I didn't expect to get a position right away but I thought I would find something eventually.
A month went by where I was calling or checking in every few days, Whitney didn't return a single call or email after our initial meeting and Alexis didn't get back to me until four weeks later saying that she had a position at Northwestern Medicine that could be a fit. I told her I was interested and asked for more details, then radio silence. Found a job on my own a few weeks later no thanks to them. Absolute waste of time.

I was contacted by someone from this company via LinkedIn. The person who recruited me seemed nice and seemed like they were genuinely interested in helping me. The day I was scheduled for my first meeting my bus broke down. Normally I would've called an Uber but my phone was at the Apple store. I was on track to being around 20 minutes early but because of this scenario that was beyond my control I ended up being around 10 minutes late.
I had to run over a mile to their office because I had been standing in the cold waiting for a new bus to arrive and it never came. When I finally arrived, I tried to explain my situation but the recruiter did seem a little disinterested. I understood why (s)he was upset with my being late but I thought they would've at least had some understanding for my situation.
The next meeting I had with them went well and I was told that I would hear back from them regarding an opportunity we had discussed later that week. I waited, and I received not one call from them. Over a week later I received a voicemail saying that there was another opportunity available. I called the person back not once, not twice but six times.
Oh yes! Six times in four days and left six messages and I never got a call back. I literally had to do some serious digging to acquire the email address of one employee who worked there so they could forward my message to the recruiter. After a while they finally emailed me back and told me about the opportunity. I have been going back and forth with these people for a while before I finally landed an interview with someone.
The day of my interview arrives and I wake up feeling EXTREMELY ill. I still planned to power through the interview and then go back home and rest. However, once I stepped outside I threw up on the sidewalk of my apartment complex. Again, I thought that would make me feel better so I attempted to proceed to the bus stop but I threw up again once I got there.
I knew at that point I would not be able to go on with the interview so I emailed the recruiter. This heartless person proceeded to tell me that because I canceled on a client they were dropping me as a resource. Really? You want to drop me? I should've dropped you all when I NEVER received a call back after the SIX messages I left you. Honestly I'm glad I never got employed through this company because based on the reviews here, if I did get hired temporarily through them I would have so many issues with unemployment claims.
I highly recommend anyone who's looking for work to go through the Salem Group. I've been with them for less than 2 weeks and they already secured a permanent job for me. The staff there is also extremely nice and helpful!

This is nothing against any one person at the company. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly nice and receptive. However, I'm starting to become frustrated with the company. I ended up getting a job at a company, but my recruiter had very little information about my hours/wardrobe/expectations for the first day. It's very stressful to start a new job and knowing those basic things would've eased my anxiety.
Since starting this job, I've had little-to-no contact with my recruiter. When I got a text a few weeks ago to update Advanced Resources on how my assignment is going, I figured out that my recruiter no longer works at the company! I have yet to be connected with a new recruiter who promised to update me on how I stand on my assignment. I'm not sure who is going to reach out to me or when that is going to happen, which as you can imagine, is frustrating for me. I thought a recruiting company was supposed to work in conjunction with me to update/provide feedback on my assignment and that is not happening.

Easily the worst recruiting firm in Chicago. I interviewed with a recruiter who never followed up with me and had the nerve to respond with an attitude. My second encounter with them was placing me an an assignment at Children's Hospital. This was the worst job I ever had. The HR Manager was a rude, prejudice, and ignorant person who was never held accountable for her actions.
I never received any support from Advanced Resources when dealing with her. They were just interested in trying to keep me working there so they could make money. Avoid the at all costs.

Met up with them several times over the years. Every time I would go in, the recruiter I met with no longer was working for the company. Do they have a high turnover of recruiters or something? They'd follow up with job suggestions on what THEY felt was suitable for me.which was always something too far away.only to completely ghost on me in the end.
Never had any interviews with them at any companies.and what's with the video camera post interview? Perhaps that was why I wasn't offered any interviews? Waste of my time.

I feel like this agency has good intentions going into your job search with you. They're very open and comfortable to talk to while also being as helpful as they can be. However, each time I started looking for different job interviews, a different recruiter called me and it got sort of confusing and little more stressful than it needed to be.
I would get a call, set up an interview, basically go into that interview blind, then either hear back (days after they said they would contact me) or not at all. I did not get set up with a job through this agency. So yes I think they mean well, but they could be doing A LOT more to take care of their recruits.

After months of going back and forth with Advanced Resource they finally contacted me about a position. Was told by the recruiter Will it was contract to hire after 4 months of employment. Fast forward was informed by the company I was contracted with they were closing its doors first of the year. Reached out to the recruiter Will advising information VP of Human Resources said.
Will response there is nothing they can do, they cannot reassign you to another contract until the current one ends, and nobody contacted him advising of the doors were closing first of the year. December 2017 we were notified of everyone last day of employment. Will and another recruiter showed up to collect updated resumes from everyone being laid off.
Will advise everyone contracted through advanced resource we can apply for unemployment long as we check in weekly and apply for open positions. Filed unemployment and found out Advanced Resources is disputing my claim stating they haven't heard from me since my assignment ended. Hold up Will has not responded to an email, text message, nor return a phone call. Reached out to several recruiters through Advanced Resources advising my availability and positions applied that they names are attached too.
None of the recruiters have responded to any phone calls nor emails. How can you sit there and dispute someone unemployment claim when the recruiters don't even respond. In my honest opinion these unprofessional inconsiderate recruiters don't respond purposely so they can lie to unemployment about you not checking with them.

As a new immigrant, I knew it was going to be a bit difficult for me to find jobs. Within my first few weeks I interviewed with Gina at Advanced Resources and told her the kind of jobs I was looking for. I worked with Gina and Nate. They both were very professional, very courteous, quick to respond, and did an amazing job getting me a job in no time.
I got calls from them almost every other day to either tell me about a new opportunity or to check back on the ones that they had already informed me about and see if I wanted to apply or not. I would have given a 5 star however, there was one particular position I was interested in. For some misunderstanding my application was not submitted and I was told the company was no longer accepting applications anymore.
To add to that I was told "the other" recruiters must have sent them resumes and perhaps thats why they have enough applications in. I was a little disappointed but I am too polite to be angry or rude at somebody for something that could have been a genuine mistake. It happens, its fine. I got a job and I am looking forward to starting it in a week.
Overall though my experience has been great. Now given it is a staffing agency, you cannot be a passive and unresponsive client. Since I was actively looking for a job, this agency matched my pace and found me a great temp position in no time. I will definitely be using them again and recommending them to others.

I started with Kelley and now have been working with both Kelley and Arica. I have nothing but great feedback for their help and attention while looking on my behalf for a job. When applying, they take the time to look over and edit your resume, cover letter, and even thank you notes after interviews. These ladies care and I suspect so does the entire company.
They put their best foot forward in hopes you get a position. Fingers crossed I score the interviews because I know I have a good and supportive team behind me also hoping for the best! Thanks ladies!

One of the office associates did reach out to me after seeing my review to offer an apology. She also said she would see to it that the firm would try to work with me to find a position. Since then they have submitted me for another position and that's all I can ask for. Staffing firms essentially provide a service to companies and so they don't try to cater to all the little jobseekers. I really wish it was the other way around.

Very disappointing. Received a call stating they had a few positions I qualified for and an request for an interview. I came in the next day i believe. The young lady told me she had about 4 positions I would be great for and that she would send them my way that same day and to respond to her if I want her to submit my resume for the positions. She never emailed the positions to me.
In fact I followed up with her twice and still no response. Its very disappointing because during our initial conversation, i expressed my concern that many of these agencies are eager to get you in but then drop the ball and you never hear from them again, she assured me they weren't like this. Well I see that was a lie. I think its better to just look online for jobs on your own and cut out the middle man.

I was referred by I think holly in the northern suburb office and she gave me shauna's phone number. I am giving this place 5star because Shauna was the most sweetest understanding recruiter I have ever met, she made me feel like she was only working with me and I was her boss! I got the feeling that she actually loves her job and that working with people is her passion.
Each time I emailed or called her, she got back to me within 24hours! Now I actually didn't get staffed with them because I found full time employment, she did call me 3 times prior about opportunities. If I ever need to temp, I would definitely give her a call. Give her an achievement award

My experience here has been a disappointment, thus far. I was originally contacted by Maria in February, who seemed eager to work with me. I unfortunately had to cancel last minute due to a personal tragedy and took some time off from my job hunt. I later reconnected with Maria a month ago when I resumed looking, in hopes I could use Advanced Resources as a tool in my job hunt.
My meeting with Maria was fine. She had admitted to me that there weren't any openings available, which I understand having worked with various agencies before. She mentioned checking in with her on a weekly basis. Since then, radio silence. I have been emailing her for a month now and have not heard anything, other than inquiring about a one-day assignment (which I cannot do on short notice because of haphazard hours at my job). Again, I understand that job openings can be cyclical and on/off-- I have been working with another agency for a few months now who, in spite of not finding me anything yet, communicates with me in a timely manner and on a regular basis.
I am a realist when it comes to job hunting and I recognize that opportunities do not grow on trees for staffing agencies, but I think some transparency and open communication isn't too much to ask for either. I see that AR can be a hit or miss for reviewers on Yelp and I unfortunately have to put this agency in the 'miss' pile.

Definitely the best temp agency I've worked with out of several. Pam specializes in staffing well-organized, legitimate academic/medical environments which, for me, was a huge step up from some of the shady places other temp agencies would send me to. Never had a bad gig and eventually got a permanent job that I love through Advanced. My only criticism is that they aren't always timely when it comes to responding to communications.

This isn't as much a review as it is the story of my experience with Advanced Resources to date. The only "review" element about this review is the single star I am giving to the agency. If ANYONE who reads this can give me a compelling reason to change that rating, I will consider doing so. My original point of contact was through the Northbrook office, but the person I spoke with also is connected with the Chicago office, so I have left this on both locations.
I have not included my contact's name in this story as I am simply trying to be as unbiased in my assessment as possible. I was looking for temporary or contract work, so on 9/12/12, I contacted Advanced Resources based on Yelp reviews. Even though their reviews included both glowing and not so glowing comments, there were a few remarks that I saw that encouraged me to give them a shot.
While my profession is not really within their placement parameters, I do have a background in mortgage servicing as well as an MBA in Finance, so when I called them, I indicated that my strengths were within that area. The person who I spoke with forwarded my call to specialist in that field, and I left a voicemail. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a follow-up call within 30 minutes of my leaving the message.
I had what I felt to be a positive conversation with the specialist and shortly afterward forwarded a cover letter and my resume to him. He followed up and said that while he couldn't guarantee anything immediately, he would look into options and get back to me. Well, when two weeks passed without ANY word from the specialist, I decided to follow up via email on 9/28/2012 to remind him that I was still eager to get the ball rolling.
That email also yielded NO RESPONSE from the specialist via reply to it or a phone call. HOWEVER, I did finally receive an email from the specialist yesterday (10/23/2012), the content of which is below: *********** Subject: Referral Bonus! Do you have any friends that are looking for a new job opportunity? Could you use some extra cash?!? Right now, we are offering you $100 if you refer someone to Advanced Resources who works for 40 hours or more. It's that simple! ALSO, if you have enjoyed working with Advanced Resources, please write us a review on Yelp http://www.yelp.com/biz/advanced-resources-chicago#query:advanced%20resources! *********** Not so "simple" to me! Need I say more?
