The customer service at this company is absolutely terrible! Our client was required/forced to attend a deposition through the Zoom feature this company offers and now they are sending us the bill rather than the requesting party. When I received the invoice I thought it was a mistake, so I contacted their accounts receivable department and spoke to a woman named Sally, who was very rude.
I explained that our office did not hire Veritext nor did we request this deposition to take place through zoom and they need to bill the appropriate party. She refused to address my concerns and told me that if I want the requesting party to pay the bill they are responsible for I have to send it to them myself. Then she offered to send me another invoice. Hahahaha. Terrible experience. I hope I never have to deal with this company again.

I worked for them for three and a half years. They treat their employees *horribly.* I was there when they fired a few different people who were at retirement age. No warning. They made up some excuse to get them out before they could collect retirement. This is a highly unethical company, it used to be Diamond Reporting, Inc., which is was also horrible.
The offices are dirty and no one seems to vacuum or clean the floor -- EVER. But most importantly, they are outright cruel. They don't care about their employees. The pay rate is dismal even for highly qualified workers. The health care plan is totally unaffordable with high deductibles. When I was there only two people were on it, and they had worked there a long time so they got a good price.
No real benefits. Seven vacation days. They work you to *death* and then decide to restructure and let you go. I would advise *not* patronizing this business. It is poorly run and the employees all hate it.

Gouging at its finest! Some defense firm bean counter thought it was a good idea to go into a contract with a court reporting big box agency and now they are paying the price. Court reporters are out getting bounty money for recruiting other reporters.who does that? Veritext. Then they take every job imaginable while the reporters have to make blood money, drive all over and make nothing. Defense attorneys come in and scream how much they're being gouged and can't stand Veritext. Well attorneys, take a stand.

If I could award no star, I would. I received a bill for a deposition from Veritext for almost $800.00 This is on the expensive end for a 2 hour deposition, but I was FLOORED when I learned that this was the price PER party (5 involved). Really, Veritext? Almost $4,000 to take a 2 hour deposition? Moreover, they lure major clients with gas cards, gifts, etc. (a prohibited practice - http://www.paonereporting.com/shell_game.html) You're not saving your company money by choosing these large companies.
Do the research and choose a local, trusted court reporting agency in your town, and support your local economy. You will undoubtedly pay HIGHER prices (DOUBLE OR TRIPPLE) with Veritext or other like companies versus going to a trusted local company. Companies beware!
