When I was out of work, I contacted two other agencies and never heard from them again. I signed up with PSG and met with Matthew Thompson who found me a great long term temp job. I ended up being hired permanently but there was a complete reorganization and unfortunately I didn't fit into their new work scheme. I contacted PSG again and found another long term temp position and was also hired permanently, and I've been here since 2019!
I love the job and the people I work with. No employment agency is perfect-I recommended PSG to two other women of color in my age group and they both had bad experiences. As for me, I've had nothing but good experiences and feedback and support while I was working for PSG and I highly recommend them.

How sad to see a great business automate and become a shell of what it was! I have needed to find temp work sometime, and have found PSG so helpful multiple times over the years. I recently submitted my resume to them again to find work after moving and am very disappointed. They have apparently fully automated their process, so you get impersonal emails once in a while that you might be a match for a job. You're offered a 15-minute screening call that you schedule online.
After the screening, if you're a good match, you get to talk to a recruiter for a few minutes. Then, you might be able to talk to the person who manages PSG's relationship with the client offering the job. I made it to this point a few weeks back and was told I'd hear back later that week. No word. I followed up via text with the recruiter who replied that he had no new information but should by end of day.
That was weeks ago. Now, I get that automated email about the same position every week. I call, text, and email to follow-up. No one answers the phone, and no one replies. I even tried to go through the chat on their website. It's a bot, insisting it's a real person, telling me my information has been referred to the appropriate department and I will be contacted.
No details on when or by whom. They were so friendly and helpful up until this past year or so. There was always a personal touch and lots of support. That seems to be a thing of the past.

Professional scam artists. Misleading job opportunities. Please don't ever think you have the job because you don't. You will never hear from your "recruiter" after they've received all your information. Majority of these 5 star reviews are phony. Pay attention to the one star, all accurate descriptions of how this "staffing" agency runs their business. I would leave zero stars if I could.

I applied for a position with Trip Advisor and 14 hours later at 7:51am, I received two emails from the same recruiter asking me to schedule a phone interview for a different position but one that apparently matched my background. I replied within MINUTES, chose a time, and the recruiter confirmed this time almost immediately. 12pm today rolled around and I didn't receive a call from anyone.
I waited and at 12:18pm I sent an email to this recruiter. Instead of a response via email, I received a text stating she had "tried to call but to no avail" which of course doesn't make sense. Either you called or didn't. I have had no response to the two phone calls I made, the chat on the website or the texts I sent. This is a SCAM! Please be careful and don't fall for it like I did.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value Don't rely on this company. I think this is a fake website. or they are tribble irresponsible. At the beginning they call you very fast to get all your information. They like to collect people's information and after that they never follow up with you. They provided some numbers but nobody answer the calls.

This agency is a scam my recruiter's name is Jeffrey I worked 16 hours for them at pappa's rehabilitation in canton since August and I never got paid every time I reached out to him he said he will have the corporate office fix it but never did. I worked hard for the money I won't give up until I get paid my lawyer is in charge now.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness I think this is my six, and I will call it the last time I will contact them for a job listing. They will advertise jobs that are not available, so it's pointless wasting time calling or chatting with a recruiter. Please look for another staffing job agency, to solve your job search. Thank you.

15 years later decided to check in with these bozos to see if they still sucked. They do. I've decided this place is one huge pile of scum and I'll leave it at that. Also, their ads are fake. Notice how they never will tell you about the ad they post no matter how many times you directly ask them about that ONE job that brought you here. Deceptive.

At first I wasn't sure PSG was the place for me. I found myself in a situation where I was looking for work - but at a short-term, part-time, level. I'd worked with PSG in the past to fulfill my own staffing needs and my impression was that short-term, gig type work was not in their wheelhouse. During an initial call I was told that my impression was ill founded and that my situation was something they absolutely were cut out for and that they'd be more than happy to work with me. Great! Unfortunately, my experience lines up almost exactly with my initial impressions.
The bulk of the opportunities (and when I say bulk, I mean all but 2 out of dozens) that have been passed along are full-time and are incompatible with my current life situation that we had talked about in detail during our initial call. Well, what of the two opportunities that looked promising? The first landed in my email and checked all the boxes for my wants and needs.
I mean, it was perfect - if I were inventing a position for myself it wouldn't have been as good of a fit as this appeared to be. Obviously that's no guarantee it would work out, there could be dozens (if not more) of applicants just as eager as myself, but I was excited to throw my hat in the ring all I had to do was click on the link in the email and set up an interview time on the recruiters calendar.
It was a dead link. No phone number in the email, so I replied directly to the recruiter.and again the next day.and the day after that. TWELVE days later she got back to me with the news that the position was no long available. Twelve days after I attempted to contact her within fifteen minutes of the initial email. So thanks. For the second, I had set up a time for a phone conversation about a position for 10:00AM, I shuffled some stuff around in my schedule so that I could give my undivided attention and be completely free of distractions for the call. It's only a fifteen minute call, but treat it like a job interview, right?
At 10:06 a new message hit my inbox that our call had be rescheduled to later in the day. Unfortunately, I had managed to grab a one-day gig through other means and wasn't available so I sent a message asking if it was possible to talk the next day. No response. Another email to the recruiter the next day. That was three days ago and I haven't heard back.
Extremely frustrating to shuffle my schedule around for a call only to have it cancelled six minutes into its supposed occurrence and not to have messages returned - thanks for respecting my time as a potential candidate. The fact that my inbox is continually buried in opportunities that do not meet the criteria that we have discussed both in writing and during calls is a bit frustrating.
I also get it, I'm sure the process is automated and there's only so much you can do with whatever filtering system they have in place. My experience with the two opportunities I was interested in is a bit different though. It shows me that I'm not valued as an individual and am just a number/metric to them. As an employer I can't argue with the results I had gotten from them in the past, but as a potential employee there has been nothing positive about the experience at all and I have received more personalized attention and better results elsewhere.

So unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. So a few years ago, I sign up with them and get a job that vastly underpays my experience. the job only pays $10 in Cambridge, Ma. One of the most expensive areas in the state and I'd be driving to work in 1 hr and 30 minute traffic to get there. They tell me, it's just to get my foot in the door of this prestigious institution So I made the mistake of agreeing because not only was the position NOT what they told me it would be, 2 days went by before I even met the manager of my position at this place and didn't even acknowledge my position not being what was promised.
So I contact my rep back at PSG and explain what the last 2 days have been like and she tells me "If you don't like it, we'll get someone else who wants it". Talk about unprofessional and rude. No interest to advocate on my behalf since I was not gaining anything from working there and it wasn't what they said it would. I left them after that since their staff refused to help.
Now FF last week. I see PSG has better reviews and decide to try them again. This time, they just ignored me completely as my emails went unanswered and no call back to my voicemails. No doubt I've been blacklisted for refusing to be racially discriminated against and disrespected from the first time I worked for them. If you are BIPOC, don't bother reaching out to PSG.

PSG posts alot of jobs, only they don't have any. All there jobs are descriptions for positions they simply don't have. I've contacted them numerous times, gone through the phone calls, etc., only to find these are jobs they hope to have. It's pretty bogus. No one ever follows up, no one ever has a real job. It's sad, they used to be a really good employment agency. Now, not at all.

I applied for a position posted by this company for a switch board operator position in Chelsea at the soldiers home. I filled out all the required paperwork to start the position, was told that the position was mine, and that they were waiting to hear back for a start date. Have me waiting for 2 weeks to be told that position was never mine an continued to try to have me work with them for other positions.
No what! You don't tell someone a position is theirs an to wait on a start date this is horrible to do. People have families, kids to provide for an holding up someone's chances of employment by telling them they have a position just to keep them with your staffing agency is extremely unprofessional an shows lack of care in the client. Do not work with them!

I worked with a recruiter names Gregory Menzone and it was a terrible experience. He was very unprofessional and does not have your best interest from a client standpoint. Instead of having both parties best interest, all he truly cares about is his commission as he has a position he has to fill. I have worked with many recruiters in the past but this agency is cut throat as it gets! I highly don't recommend this agencies services.

I have had a good experience with PSG. I appreciate that they were honest from the beginning about the fact that you may not find your dream job through the agency, and that you should continue to use other resources in your job hunt as well. They are genuinely friendly, kind, and encouraging. They contacted me about lots of jobs right away after my interview.
I got the second position I interviewed for, and I liked that they helped me prepare for the interview questions. I like my long-term temp job a lot! I will definitely continue to work with them in the future.

My experience with Professional Staffing Group has been absolutely wonderful. I have never worked with staffing agencies before, but the members of PSG made it really easy for me to understand the process and were refreshingly honest about what I can expect in my job hunt. The staff members were all very helpful, polite, and supportive. PSG assigned a representative that made sure I was attended to and checked in with me once a week to make sure I was being heard, which is great! This is the top job agency I would recommend to others. I am very thankful for all of their assistance!

PSG comes across as very unprofessional, and so far my experience with them has been a waste of time, and slightly frustrating and unpleasant. I saw their ads frequently on the trains, and decided to check them out. I called them and spoke with someone who said I should send my resume to her. I put my phone down next to me and sent her an email with my resume.
A few minutes later she responds saying she tried to call me, but it went straight to voicemail, please could I respond back. There was no missed call in my logs, and no voicemail. I wrote back to her confirming my phone number in case I had somehow typed it wrong on my resume, though I knew I hadn't. After about 20 minutes, I called her to see what was up went to voicemail.
I left a message. I never heard from this particular person again. I called the main number again and spoke with some other person, who said that, eh, maybe the initial person misdialed my number or something, and told me to send my resume to them instead. They sounded bored and skeptical of their own company/coworkers. This second person sent me an email setting up a video interview with someone else, and an email requesting that I fill out a bunch of demographic and job search-related information "to save time".
The form you electronically sign gives them permission to -- actually goes so far to state that you are "requesting" that they -- contact all your previous employers. This was kind of a red flag for me but I went ahead with the phone interview, in which I was encouraged to restate all the information I had filled out the day before "to save time".
The interviewer went through a list of I think Microsoft Office related technologies I hadn't heard of and when I asked her what they were she said she had no idea, which was fair enough, I suppose, but not really a great sign since she must ask these questions 20 times a day. The interviewer was maybe in her early 20s, and pleasant enough, but clearly not at all experienced in her role -- it was really the silliest "interview" I've ever been a part of.
A few minutes after the interview I got another email asking me to rate their services, but it was kind of impossible to answer, so I just ignored it. About a week later I got a second "reminder" survey, and I had a vision of my inbox filling up with more and more reminders, so I just gave them the negative feedback I had been trying to avoid, waiting to see if they would actually do something.
I wrote that I thought PSG had been unprofessional from the start, but the person who interviewed me was fine. I haven't heard from them since -- it's been a few weeks since then, and I think they probably don't plan to ever contact me. Just really a slightly unpleasant waste of time.

My job search lasted around 8 months, without many leads -- I finally reached out to Professional Staffing Group for help. The interview process was simple and I felt that my interviewer was truly getting to know me and what I was looking for. She mentioned an opportunity within PSG that fit my career goals, so I was passed off to another team member.
I was always greeted with smiles and a welcoming environment. The teams here at PSG truly care about your interests and placing you somewhere for success. I highly recommend PSG as a staffing agency - you will be happy that you did!

Friendly, great service. Found me jobs all over, with a college degree in Fine Art. Placed me in accounting for Joan and David shoes in Everett, Password administration for Partner's Health Care, Conservation Law Foundation, Harvard Medical fundraising. Great connections. I was able to go into the office and use their computers for classes in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and that really boost my opportunities.
It's a two way street, if you're not working for them and making use of their tutorials and tests, they're not going to be able to do as much for you. My work experience in jobs they found me led me to success as a professional artists, all of the classes I took here I used later in my own business. Thank you PSG!

Having found a position that was well within my wheelhouse, I submitted my application via PSG. Contacted by an SDR to set up meeting to discuss the role and come into PSG to set up profile. After about 1-1.5 hours worth of online assessments, form filling, I met with the recruiter responsible for the space I was interested in, only to learn that the role I initially responded to didn't actually exist but rather was more indicative of jobs they "have had in the past, or hope to be getting".
So right off the back, I was frustrated because that seemed like gross misrepresentation to me. After continuing to talk - and meet with couple of other PSG staff that might have had roles I might be interested in, I then was told of an impending meeting to take place with company that might be good fit, within a week. Our initial session ended and told they would circle back a week or so.
However within 24 hours I (like others commenting here) received their online survey. I filled it out based on my initial assessment/meeting but like others, there really was nothing to comment on because nothing had yet happened, except for my time being wasted since the job I'd originally applied to never existed, and everything else was "pending" After not hearing back from recruiter for about 10 days, I emailed to get status update. Nothing.
Two weeks later I reached out again, even including list of "jobs" they'd posted (to see if any of them actually existed and if so, could we potentially work toward these). Again - no response. After being brought in for a job that never existed, filling out form after form, only to be told that they would circle back with me after a meeting about potential job opening (and I'd be happy if the job didn't pan out but to have to chase them down to learn of anything), only to then be completely ignored in follow-ups makes me wonder; on what planet does PSG get to use the term PROFESSIONAL in their monicker?!?
This has been one of the LEAST PROFESSIONAL experiences I have endured in my job search. Ever. There is a reason that all the reviews here are negative and I only wish I'd first reviewed some before ever deciding to waste my time and frustrate myself with this deplorable service.

I would give them zero stars if I could. Absolutely the worst and most unethical staffing agency out there. I will say that the recruiter I met with was nice but they sent me on a one day working interview for a position they misrepresented in the job description and for which I was over-qualified. Afterwards, I would randomly get these creepy calls from someone at a call center who would try to push me for answers on salary requirements.
It made me very uneasy. They tried not get around paying unemployment for me but luckily I had all of my documentation and was able to prove that their allegations were not accurate. I am not sure why they are still in business. I could not recommend them, in fact, I would encourage job seekers to stay far away.

I'd heard great things about PSG and went to them when I was out of a job. I worked with PSG to help find a job and in a few weeks I was contacted for a temporary position with one of their biggest clients. It was near my house and paid well I was excited. I was good at the work and my position was extended multiple times to replace someone who they'd sent who had some family issues.
The other person I worked with was also from the same agency and left without a word to anyone. It took sometime before I realized I was being sexually harassed by the only man in the department. The other women in the department knew he's a piece of shit but no one's said anything. The last few days I was there, I spoke up on the record.
It was humiliating, empowering and terrifying. It was also reported to PSG, I went over it with them and was told I'd be kept up to date. Not a word. I lost my job and reached out to the main person I was setup with and the person who got me the job. Nothing. Great bunch of folks over there.

By far the worst recruiting agency known to mankind. I mean the best thing they did was find me a job. However, I must say they were very overbearing and lacked the ability to understand that people have real life situations that can conflict with work hours. Example: they asked a employee who was scheduled for surgery to reschedule her appointment. Most of my horrendous experiences came from Mike. I would never recommend this thing called an agency to anyone. Save yourself the trouble.

Like so many others here, I signed up with them, went into the Boston office and never got anything out of it. No follow-up at all, which unfortunately is not rare for temp agencies anymore, but seems to be the norm for PSG. That was 10 years ago and thought about getting in touch again as part of my job search. I saw some of their ads on Craigslist that had the following phrase: "recent college graduate." This is code for - we aren't interested in older people for this position.and the position will probably pay garbage. It's illegal to discriminate against someone's age in a job search but they they will never tell you this is the reason they won't hire or place you. Yet, they post this in their ads: "Professional Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment regardless of race, gender, gender identity, gender expression, AGE, color, religion, disability, veteran's status, sexual orientation, or any other protected factor."

I have worked with PSG in the past. I applied to a craig's list post and the same day had a call from Kathy. I went into the office the next day and the position I applied for was available and ready. I started work on Monday. While I discussed my pay rate they were more that willing to accommodate me. Everything was set up VIA e-mail and off I went.
I worked for the company over a year before they decided to close but the entire time I worked Kathy was in contact with me. I am now seeking employment once again and PSG is the first place I went to. I spoke to Kathy and she was honest with me, there is no opening right now. Thank you for all your professionalism and care over the last year. Anyone that has dealt with agencies before knows that nothing is definite.
You can see an add on a post and so does 100 other job seekers. I have dealt with just about every agency in the greater Boston area and the only one that I ever landed a job with is PSG. I personally would go no place else.

Negative reviews are true. Took time out of my day because they asked me to (rather than having a phone screening first). Spoke with one of their recruiters, they showed me around and I left. Then they sent me a survey on how satisfied I was.before they even did anything! It's a numbers game they play so they can get people in the system and have positive reviews. Go elsewhere if you're looking for this type of work.

Having temped through PSG recently, I think they have an undeserved negative reputation. My recruiter, Dung, listened to me on the type of job I was looking for, and contacted me with temp opportunities at nonprofits, as I'd requested. I worked a day as part of their Guaranteed Work Program. This means that you sit on call in their office in Boston for the day, and go out to an assignment if any calls come in that day.
They give you a computer to use for job searching while you wait to be sent out. On the day I worked, no calls came in for day of temps, so I spent the 8 hours in the PSG office. A little boring, but worth it to get paid while job searching. My next assignment was 2 weeks in the Provost office of Northeastern University. I had a great supervisor and enjoyed the assignment. Edit: I ended up returning to the Provost office of Northeastern University for a 3 month assignment Nov - Jan. I have no complaints about working with PSG. If I need to temp during a future job search, I'd call them.

I have used PSG twice, and they have been nothing but professional. The first time I used them I had a very very specific situation that made it difficult to place (I was still employed somewhere else temporary and was only looking for direct hire as a supervisor). However the second time I was unemployed as the job contract ended and I was getting nowhere with my own job hunt, even for entry level. Jess Mulligan, who was my agent, is pretty much a godsend.
We had more of a conversation then an interview where we went over what I wanted based on my experience, and how open I was to opportunities. She could have easily placed me in temporary opportunities at the hire rate of pay, but a direct hire entry level opportunity was available for a little bit less then what I was asking for. Since it was direct hire I said I would interview with them.
She was went through everything. She went and gave me company details, had me send her questions to ask during the interview. She had me give a writing sample to see where I was in regards to my email writing skills. She gave me some interview questions to study. We talked on the phone hours before my interview to go over interview questions to see strengths and weaknesses in my answers and gave great advice on my wording of specific things.
She printed out copies of my resume, directions to the job, and a copy of the interview questions I wrote to bring to the interview. We talked briefly before I went and she asked me to call her when I finished. I had my interview with the company and I called her back later in the day (I would have called her immediately but my cell phone was almost dead).
Maybe the delay was good anyway because I got the job. Seriously yo. This was probably the best "Seeking Employment" experience I ever had. They had me well prepared and well trained to get a job that seems to be awesome for my skills. Jess understood where I am in my life and what my goals are and found something that fit perfectly. I can't agree with anything the haters are saying about the company.
They relieved a lot of pressure from my job hunt and for me the results were immediate. Also note, I put in a request to have the address changed as they are no longer at Devonshire. They are on Federal now so the photos really don't match any longer.

Terrible place! Applied for a position on Craigslist and they called back and refused to talk about the position applied for. I had a similar experience a few years before and should have learned my lesson. They should made to disclose that PSG is listed the add so i can avoid them.but sadly they don't. I can only imagine that their ads on craigslist are fake!

I sent my resume into PSG and was contacted a few days later about a job in my field. We talked on the phone and the recruiter had job descriptions for two positions in my field and a few in the works that sounded great. I was told location, job title, and a brief description of these jobs. He asked if I wanted to come in so they could get to know me.
Pretty standard "let's make sure you're not a weirdo" practice for staffing firms. The experience was terrible from the moment I walked in the door. I was plunked on a computer and made to fill out a lot of paperwork that would only apply to temps (I was there about perm jobs.). After about 20 minutes my interviewer came down. I was told I would be speaking with a woman and it was a man, so that was a little bit weird.
We talked for a little bit about my past experiences. He then listed the jobs he had open. There were only about six of them in a huge firm. No jobs at all in my field. The jobs the recruiter gave my SPECIFIC DETAILS about were totally made up. They had absolutely nothing open in my field, or related fields. The entire process was a colossal waste of my time. I've worked with a lot of staffing agencies, like I said, and never before have I been brought in under false pretenses.

This place is like entering the twilight zone. Things are never as they seem. I recently submitted an application through Craigslist to what I thought was a perfect opportunity considering my qualifications. There was no indication that it was a PSG posting. 10 minutes later (literally) I got a phone call from a recruiter at PSG. At first I was pleasantly surprised.
I mean, wow, they must have been impressed with my resume or something. After talking about my career goals and whatnot, the recruiter asked if I'd be available to start immediately. Wait, what? So of course I said, absolutely not, I have a full-time job that requires a 2 weeks notice at minimum. I wonder what kind of jobs ask for IMMEDIATE HIRE. Hmm, something screams temp jobs.
The postings on Craigslist aren't even real. They lure you in with promising opportunities, and all they can offer professionals are low-paying temp jobs filing papers. I wanted to give this place a shot, so I said sure, let's set up an interview. BUT, the recruiter would have to call me back tomorrow to set up a time because hmm.looks like all the spots just got filled up during our 5 minute chat on the phone!
The recruiter never called me. I had to email him to ask him to call me. When he did, he gave me the runaround again, saying that we couldn't schedule anything today and that he'd call tomorrow at 8am. He called me at 9:45. At that point I told him I wasn't interested anymore. They are not professional at all. Also, why can't you book interviews a week or two in advance?
If these were real, professional jobs, then you'd think they'd take the time to make sure you got in their office. Nope. It's a factory. Avoid this place at all costs unless you are a desperate college grad who will file papers for $10/hour to pay rent.

PSG is a bad Temp Agency. It's not even that I dislike them, they are just bad at their job. It's sorta like being in a relationship with someone who just never returns your calls. I went in for an interview, they took notes and said they would check in with me 2x a week. I said, hey I know sometimes you all don't call, would it be easier if I just called you?
The rep assured me that it wasn't necessary. "I like to check in with all the people I work with." I'm no stranger to straight faced BS but this was just frustrating. Needless to say they never called me. I was already getting assignments from other temp firms so I saved myself the frustration and didn't call them. When I tried to use PSG 4 years ago I called and called and called.
Never heard a peep from them. Save yourself the trouble, if you want a temp firm go with Monument or Beacon Hill. They are both great in their own ways. PSG is the worst. Can I give 0 stars?
