I actually think Fanning is one of the better ones out there. Chris is excellent, and knows her stuff. She always kept me in the loop for solid senior roles that she had. Unfortunately, her most senior roles were at companies I had previously worked at, so I often was not interested in pursuing them. A beacon of hope, Fanning is, for people using agencies.

They hire some real vindictive young men out of college with terrible people skills (possibly as a favor to someone). The more seasoned experts are great but they better shape up and follow through or at very least respond back if someone follows up if they can or take the time to tell them they cannot follow up with everyone. Had a terrible experience after having a very pleasant and civil conversation with the relationship manager noticed the young man was not listed as an employee due to unprofessional behavior. Ways to go still! Seems like they held a grudge against me as I applied numerous times to give them multiple chances but never heard back. I guess they blacklisted me.

They were very helpful for me! They took the time to meet with me individually and get to know me and my background. I constantly was receiving opportunities and updates from them. The recruiters who worked with me really worked hard to get me a good job, and they did! They believed in me and gave me great suggestions for interviewing, always making sure I was prepared. I highly recommend working with them!

I have applied to many basic administrative positions through Fanning Personnel on Indeed. I have noticed that one of their recruiters is always checking my application through indeed but yet I never receive any call or correspondence regarding the positions. I call yesterday (1/11/17) to check on the status of my applications and the receptionist tells me that the recruiter is in a meeting and will call me later.
I call again today (1/12/17) and the receptionist bluntly tells me that she will forward my resume to the recruiter and hangs up. Overall, I am really disappointed with the lack of professionalism portrayed by this staffing agency. In times of need, these businesses exist to help qualified candidates, that are looking for a change, find a position that is mutually beneficial.
I am more than qualified for all the positions I've applied for through Fanning Personnel (I have 3 years admin experience, 6 years reception & 6+ years in customer service/hospitality) and yet have not even been contacted back. At the very least, I expect the recruiter to be in touch with all applicants to get to know them better. I have met with 8 other recruiting agencies in the Greater Boston area and they at least meet with you to discuss your background and what you're looking for.

I can not say enough positive things about Fanning Personnel. Everyone I worked with here were absolutely phenomenal. Lynn, Chris, and Adam took the time to really listen to what I was looking for in my next career move and provided me with many opportunities. I felt well prepared for each interview - they had a phone prep conversation with me prior to each appointment providing tid bits of information about the company and how to best present myself.
They followed up after each interview to see how things went, ask if I liked the company etc. There was a constant flow of communication and updates as to where I stood in the process. So many other recruiters seem have hidden agendas and just want to fill the position so they get paid--Fanning (Lynn and Chris) really seemed to care that I was finding the best position fit for me. If your looking to make a career move I would definitely recommend seeing Lynn, Chris or Adam!

I finally came to this site to get some reviews since I have had the WORST experience of lack of response. I'm a highly qualified professional with much to offer and they can't even respond, this would be the 4th time now. Clearly by all the reviews they present high level jobs but only have administrative ones to offer. Have the common courtesy to at least email back SOMETHING!
People will talk and those companies that use them to hire will stop eventually using them because of their reputation. Not ONE of the people there have ever responded to me. they are clueless at what they are doing. Not sure who wrote this business model but you may want to revisit it.

Every bad review in here is true. I had a phone interview with 1 woman, (who I won't mention) regarding a position, which she told me I sounded great for, but she would just need to email me the official job description and we could move forward. She sent me the email, I responded that I was interested and asked a few follow up questions and never heard from her again despite reaching out several times. Not sure what their deal is but don't waste your time with them.

Was contacted in late May the morning after I had applied to a job on their website. I went in to meet them the following week. I met Kris and Patrick. I checked their page for positions i was interested in, i emailed Patrick Acone about the positions and never received a response. I have sent him 3 different emails explaining that I want to apply for positions but have been completely ignored. I have left voicemails too. This firm is a complete waste of time. I don't know how they are in business. AVOID THESE SCAM ARTISTS!

I didn't have the greatest time with this company. When i first met with them, two different people, they were really excited and told me they had a lot of great opportunities to show me. I was sent on one interview and I didn't hear anything for weeks. I checked in with the recruiter several times with no response. Finally she wrote back and said, oh sorry for not getting back to you sooner, they decided to pass and go with someone else.how long did she know this?
From there, i was told of many admin asst positions, which i clearly stated i'm not looking for. Nothing against jobs like this, but I have an MBA and I explained what i was looking for. Then complete radio silence. I checked their site several times and found almost exact positions I was looking for down to the job title I specified, and emailed that specific recruiter, Lynn, for all of those positions. Nothing.
Not even an "i'm not sure you are a right fit" response or anything. just straight up ignored me. I emailed the original recruiter I was working with to see if my emails weren't going through, or if there was something wrong.you guessed it, no response. It felt as though they found me too time consuming to work with because I didn't want to go interview for the 5 or 6 admin asst positions they told me about, and believe me, I did not make things difficult or trying for them. I, myself, found the positions I was interested in, and they couldn't even take 2 minutes to respond.
I don't understand why they would act this way, I was doing a lot of the work for them, but I guess if you don't want to interview for admin asst positions, try another firm. If you do want that type of work, they seem to have a lot of openings, just be sure to go on the interviews THEY suggest, or else you are not worth their time and they drop you without even a thank you.

Horrible-dont waste your time like they wasted mine. I went in to meet w Patrick and Lynn in June. I followed up w them on a weekly basis regarding any potential opps and they didn't even have ONE job to show me! Really?!? Not even 1 interview? That's pathetic and I'm annoyed I wasted my time meeting w them. If you're looking for a legit recruiter, call Sean Cashman at Treeline, he will work hard for you and not waste your time!

Fanning is a pretty typical staffing agency, in other words, terrible. Like virtually all agencies, they have no respect at all for either their clients or prospective employees. I've used them during one job search. My recruiter there was a total flake. She would occasionally call me and leave an incredibly distracted-sounding message and the one job interview she sent me to was completely inappropriate for my skills or experience. Wasted my time and her client's.

I also did not have such a great experience over at Fanning. My experience was quite similar to S L and Z Q in that I had specifically told them I was not looking for an specific investment position, yet in the months that followed that is all they pushed at me. I disagree with Michael C when it comes to asking for Lynn. When I met with her she told me that she knew my current employer.
Three days later I heard her call my boss to see if he was looking to fill a partner position that I had mentioned to her as being open. This was clearly a conflict of interest, and not at all in keeping with any confidentiality agreement that you would assume exists when dealing with a recruiter. My suggestion would be to contact Nick Cabral at Boston Investment Staffing Group. He's a great guy, and unlike Fanning, listens to your needs and is clearly on your team rather than trying to play both sides.

Can't say that I had such a positive experience. I submitted a response to one of the jobs that interested me, however when I was contacted, they wanted me to come in and meet with a bunch of other recruiters to discuss a completely different job "they" had in mind for me and didn't even respond back to me when I asked to see the description of the alternate job and never was considered for my original inquiry. Don't bother, save your time and efforts! :

I have to say that Lynn at Fanning is a true pro. While I never got a job from working with Fanning they presented me with some good opportunities and also kept me in mind for other openings that came up. I never felt that I was just another resume when working with them. If your looking for work in finance in Boston I suggest giving Fanning a try (ask for Lynn)
